Hi, I'm Žiga.
I have been working in the IT industry for more than 30 years, with much of my career focused on data, analytics, Oracle technologies, and enterprise information systems.
Professional background
Over the years, I have worked on business analytics and technology projects across the UK, EMEA — particularly Central and Eastern Europe — the United States, and Japan. Much of this work has involved designing and implementing solutions based on Oracle Analytics, Oracle Business Intelligence, databases, and related technologies.
Earlier in my career, I spent ten years with Oracle Slovenia and the Central and Eastern European region, working in several roles across technology and applications pre-sales, sales, and marketing.
I later served as CIO of Mladinska knjiga, Slovenia's largest publishing company, before returning my focus to consulting, analytics, and Oracle technology.
What I work with today
My work today focuses primarily on Oracle cloud technologies, data, analytics, and artificial intelligence.
My areas of interest and expertise include Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Analytics, Autonomous Database, AI and machine learning, Data Science, AI Data Platform and Lakehouse technologies, and the growing integration of generative AI and AI agents with enterprise data and analytics.
Many of the articles on this blog come directly from that work — exploring new technologies, building proof-of-concepts, testing integrations, and documenting what actually happens when the pieces are put together.
Oracle ACE Pro
I have been an Oracle ACE Pro since 2020.
Through the Oracle community I regularly share experiences and technical knowledge through articles, presentations, demonstrations, conferences, and other community activities.
I am also a member of the SIOUG board and participate in organising community events, including the annual MakeIT conference.
Education & certifications
I hold an MBA from the Faculty of Economics and a BSc from the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, both at the University of Ljubljana.
Over the years I have also earned a number of Oracle certifications across analytics, Autonomous Database, machine learning, cloud infrastructure, and business intelligence.

This blog is where I document technologies and ideas that I find interesting — primarily around Oracle Analytics, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, databases, AI, data platforms, and AI agents.
The posts are intentionally practical. Alongside architecture and concepts, I try to include implementation details, experiments, lessons learned, problems encountered, and solutions that may be useful to others working with the same technologies.
